A Letter to PM Imran Khan & Abdul Hafeez Shaikh

Dear Sir,

I have a lot of interest in Politics and Economy of Pakistan. Every day, like any other citizen of Pakistan I switch on my Television at exactly 9:00 pm and hear criticism on every Prime Minister and Ministers. Be it Imran Khan, Nawaz Sharif, Asif A Zardari or any other ex-minister.

All of them were criticized on a few basic things such as Health, Education and Infrastructure and issues regarding it. I am not an Economist or a Politician but past 5-6 years I have absorbed a lot of information and have come to a conclusion that mostly everyone is looking at economics and accounting but none of us is looking at the business side.

Now, after studying business for almost 5-6 years and a lot of different case studies, I have seen that most businesses are using fly-light model. It is used by different companies including Careem, Airbnb, Facebook, Youtube and many other multi-national companies.

For example, Careem and Uber are the biggest taxi service in Pakistan but do not have any taxi of their own. Same is with Airbnb and the rest. Now, the thing is that most businesses even in Pakistan are using this model to bring the business fast and grow immensely.

Now, I was thinking if we could apply this model to Pakistan. It might sound as irrelevant to most of you but I think that this idea is worth listening and explaining. I believe that if we use this model we will be able to bring a change of 50 years in only 5 years in Pakistan. And if we continue to use this model we can solve all the issues and compete with the modern world.

Now see, The road in my area of Johar Town, Lahore is broken since years and no one is coming to repair it and also many roads need to be repaired. There are no hospitals or schools in that area but coincidently many rich people are living in those areas.

What if I build the road in my area and charge government a bill of 5million for construction of a road. Now suppose the government has audited construction prices and has given a rate of 6million but since I have made it in 5 million I am saving governments money and also if I make it in 8million then the government can see that I am making it 2million expensive so the government can audit my reports and even sue me for corruption.

In this way, the government doesn’t need to go to every area to build roads, schools or hospitals. The rich and affluent people can build it for themselves and charge the government for the construction. Now another example is of a hospital. There are four doctors in Faislabad who are affluent and start construction of hospital which is almost 50 million so in this case the government buys equity in that Hospital say 50% and the poor people can get their treatment for free or at a very low cost and the government only pays to the hospital. A semi-private hospital or even the government can give land to doctors and have a stake in it.

Now, If the government implements this there will be 100 times more growth and if it happens the right way the government can bring 50 years of change in only 5 years. The government then needs to focus only on other areas such as Water & Sanitation Problem, Terrorism, Foreign Relations and Major constructions.

In this way, the government can also provide approximately provide employment to 100,000 plus people in Pakistan and also through this, industries will also grow. Also, there will be less corruption due to this simple law or a change.

Now I have many more to explain but I couldn’t explain everything in this letter. In reality, none of this could happen but if this letter is given a view and do anything out of it I’d feel honoured. I don’t want any credit or any money and willing to help the government in any case possible but the only thing I want is my voice to be heard.
