An Interesting Story of when I was Conned by "MLM Scheme"

 In 2013, Right after my O-Levels, I was looking for an Internship & ironically the place I was looking internship was on OLX. 


I landed into a small office near McDonalds,Link Road which was kind of a little bit of Shady office with individuals were working who genuinely looked like Tamil Actors.


I got an interview with a lady who claimed to be working at an MNC in Kuwait and was very much impressed by my Goals. Happy from the inside but the next thing, she told me was to deposit PKR 1,000 as a security so that I don't run away as an intern & since I was desperate, I handed it over to them. 


After a little introduction, I was asked to start on Monday.


I did everything in my closet to look good for my first day at office and in the morning when I reached their office, They started their session with the first few verses of "Surah Al-Rahman" as a way to start and I thought of it as a Good Thing. 


The next thing was the Host who was roughly 24 started telling about their business which was definitely you all have heard was a "Multi-Level Marketing Scheme". Though, I was only 16 but I wasn't foolish enough to see Bill Gates & Steve Jobs quoting MLM as the best technique in business. How it has helped their Bosses in US with Mansions & High profile friends like George Bush. 


I could imagine the foolishness inside me right now. After all this drama, He said exactly the same thing which you might have all heard simply brought me to the conclusion that it's all fraud. 


He said "Most of you will regret being a Billionaire few years from now because the people sitting in this room who will spend 25 Grand will definitely become one".


I, immediately left the class and then after it a lot of people actually thought of spending the amount and most of them did and definitely suffered losses.


Few hours later, I met this guy working in a NewsChannel at breakfast told me about this Ponzi scheme and how daily different students like me come here with big hopes and go back hoke crying. How 20-30 Offices exist in the same plaza trapping hundreds of students, housewives & jobless into this scheme. Imagine the fraud they would have did and there is not a single government agency to put regulation on it.


Believe me "25000 me digital marketing ka course" is way better than something like this.
